Top Hip-hop Albums of 2022
Hip-hop has long been a driving force in the music industry, with countless artists and albums shaping the genre and influencing culture around the world. With so much great music to choose from, it can be tough to narrow down the list of the best hip-hop albums of 2022. But after much consideration and debate, we have compiled a list of what I believe are the cream of the crop.
Be warned, I may not be a seasoned album reviewer like Anthony Fantano, but that doesn't mean I don't know what I like when it comes to music. As a music lover and DJ, I've developed a good ear for what I enjoy and I'm not afraid to stand by that. While I may not have the same level of expertise or critical analysis as some reviewers, I know that my ear has never let me down when it comes to finding and appreciating great music. So while I may not be able to provide in-depth analysis or break down the technical aspects of an album, I can still confidently share my personal thoughts and feelings about the music I listen to.

It's safe to say that anyone who claims that 2022 was a dry year for hip-hop must be completely out of touch with the current music scene. There have been a plethora of fantastic hip-hop releases this year, and it's clear that the genre is as vibrant and exciting as ever. From established artists dropping highly anticipated albums to up-and-coming talent making waves with their unique sounds, there's no shortage of great music to discover. Some of my personal favorites from this year's crop of releases include Logic's Vinyl Days, Freddie Gibbs $oul $old $eparately , and Czarface Czarmageddon. Each of these projects showcases the diversity and creativity of the hip-hop genre by incorporating a range of influences and styles, while also paying homage to the foundation of hip-hop with classic sounds that are elevated for modern times.
As a music connoisseur and one of our most loyal supporters, we are excited to hear what Alex Remix has to say about his top pick for the best hip-hop album of 2022, Czarmaggedon.
"Czarmaggedon wins album of the year for me, The sampling, cuts, 7L & Esoteric with the production. I love the whole comic book themes of these albums even though I was never really into comics, it's cool as fuck and I'm also a really big fan of Inspectah Deck." - Alex Remix
Notable tracks:
Damien's Dinner Time - strong track, if I were to introduce someone to Czarface this would be it, wow
Walk Thru Walls - This one really spoke to me
Bob LaCzar - this might be my favorite track out of this album
Fearless & Inventive - Crazy that Kool Keith is 56 and still bars out, amazing track
Boogie DefMix - I'm such a big fan of instrumental tracks, especially if it has cuts on it, 7L is a beast on the tables and production
Solid album if you ask me, it has everything you could want in a hip-hop album as a DJ and hip-hop head, I really like the lofi sound and synths.
